Small business owners in the sweepstakes industry have successfully worked to ensure that software used at their cafes is legal under the NC Supreme Court’s ruling and the NC statute. We must ensure that these small businesses are protected and the thousands of jobs throughout the state are not lost.

    At a time when state government is searching for new revenue sources, regulating and taxing electronic sweepstakes could provide the state with hundreds of millions of dollars that could go towards funding education and other critical state priorities.

    Eliminating electronic sweepstakes would cost local government millions in lost revenue, which will result in cuts to critical services or higher taxes and fees for residents.
